About Honeydew Yoga
___
Located in the heart of Muscle Shoals, Alabama—right on Woodward Avenue—Honeydew Yoga opened in June 2024 with a clear vision: to make movement approachable for every body. Using the yoga swing to support your weight, we reduce strain and make each pose more accessible—whether you’re brand new to yoga, recovering from injury, or simply seeking a gentler, more supportive practice.
Our boutique-style studio is rooted in Mind–Body Connection, blending playful movement with deeply restorative stillness. With small class sizes, personal attention, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, we offer a variety of regular classes along with special workshops and events.
Honeydew Yoga brings something fresh and healing to Muscle Shoals—a unique yoga experience built on innovation, support, and inclusivity. We’re proud to fill a niche for accessible, restorative movement in a community already embracing wellness.
Meet Brittney-Jo
___
Brittney-Jo is a local artist and yoga enthusiast living in the Shoals area since 2011. She began practicing yoga in 2020, and started to get more invested and practicing daily by 2023. She is currently going through her 200hr YTT, and will be teaching Suspension and Traditional Yoga here at Honeydew! Brittney-Jo has had this dream of a Yoga Studio for 4 years now, and she is so excited to share it with her teachers, and wonderful friends across the Shoals. When she is not at Honeydew, she is tattooing over on the other side of the building at The Beehive Tattoo Collective. She enjoys hanging in the swing after a long days work of tattooing!

Meet Melissa
___
Melissa began practicing yoga in 2002 while living in Austin, going to a class on a friend's suggestion.
Being a singer, Melissa loved chanting mantras and found the practice to be very transformative. In 2006, she completed a teacher training program at Yoga Yoga (Austin), more as a way to deepen her own practice. After moving to New Orleans with her husband Matthew in 2007, she began teaching at Swan River Yoga among other studios and spaces, as well as offering workshops with music and mantra. Melissa has expanded her teacher training to include restorative yoga, and has attended various workshops to continue learning and deepening her connection to spiritual practices. She is currently teaching yoga in The Shoals at various locations. When she’s not on the mat, she’s on the stage with her husband and their Roots-Rock group, The
Dirty Rain Revelers.
